We are sure that the concert that we have planned for North York ON will be a real gem. The concert will be held at the Meridian Arts Centre – Studio Theatre, on Saturday, Septmeber 16. 2023, at 4pm. This will be an event with performances from three a cappella ensembles; Dalmatian klapa ensembles Klapa Teranke from Pula, Croatia & Klapa Kartolina from Windsor, along with Georgian traditional vocal ensemble Darbazi from Toronto. Klapa Teranke are one of the top female klapas in Croatia and multiple award winner of a cappella festivals and competitions. Please click on the link below to see one of their past performances:
The concert will be held at the Studio Theatre and we are eager to experience Dalmatian klapa songs and traditional songs from the Republic of Georgia, in the so-called “black box” theatre, where distractions are minimal and where the audience can solely focus on the performance. This experience could well be similar to the birthplace of klapa songs, somewhere in the dimly lit narrow streets or passages in the old Dalmatian towns, or somewhere in the Georgian mountains or centuries-old dwellings.
